Fermi thinking and AGILE
Fermi thinking and AGILE
Or = AGILE actually Fermi thinking?
Recently I stumbled upon a piece describing Fermi thinking, after reading this I was thinking: “This is familiar, so how do I know this? Because it is just like AGILE!”
After having a Chat with GPT, here are some similarities and differences.
𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Iterative Approach, Flexibility & Adaptability, Creative Problem-Solving & Transparency and Collaboration
𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬: They are distinct concepts with different scopes and applications. Fermi thinking is a general problem-solving technique, while Agile is a project management and development framework primarily used in software development.

I just find it interesting that we can still learn from history, a lot of smart people have been around.
The difference is that they did not have these massive platforms for storytelling.
In general in IT we just like to use new terms while using the same approach or solution. Then a gigantic marketing machine starts, and we all start working a different way, that intrigues me.
I always like to use what works for a specific project and apply a lot of common sense 😉 Working in a general common way does help (not for everyone, but in general), and I enjoy Agile working. Making things visible and into smaller chunks makes sense to me as with the rituals (when applied correct). This can also be applied in personal development and the other way around 😉
